On Saturday, February 28, the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored six distinguished individuals with Silver and Gold Circle awards – among them, Sue Boyd of our Broadcast and Cinema Arts Department. The Silver Circle recognizes media professionals with at least 25 years of experience who have made significant contributions in performing, creative, technical, or administrative roles, as well as in related fields such as journalism, education, advertising, promotion, and public relations. This prestigious NATAS award celebrates sustained service, professional excellence, community impact, and a dedication to mentoring and developing future talent.

Sue was joined at the celebration by President Christopher Dougherty, Provost Chris Benson, Dean Ian Bell, faculty members Cheryl Chodun and Dan Boyd, and several BCA alumni and students. Before Sue addressed the audience, a three‑minute video–created by her daughter, a Madonna University alumna from the Class of 2018–was shown in her honor.
