Madonna University welcomes transfer students for admission into our tight-knit, supportive
community, helping them to realize their potential and achieve their academic and
professional goals. With over 100 degree programs and an array of student involvement
opportunities and academic support services, transfer students seamlessly transition
to Madonna University.
The Madonna Admissions team understands the unique needs of transfer students and
are ready to help you navigate the process. If you need assistance as you submit your

questions you may have about the transfer process.
Applying as a Transfer Student
Application Requirements
The Office of Admissions conducts a holistic review of each applicant, ensuring they
are a best-fit for success in our community. We do this by assessing academic achievement,
community experience, and extracurricular involvement.
Transfer applicants must meet the following standards to be considered for admission:
Cumulative college/university GPA of 2.0 or higher
Good academic and personal standing at prior institutions
*Please note that applicants whose credentials do not satisfy the above criteria but
whose maturity indicates potential for success are eligible for provisional admission.
Students interested in applying for transfer admission to Madonna University are required
to submit the following:
Students interested in transferring to Madonna University can review their completed
coursework at their current institution as well as AP and IB courses to evaluate potential
transferable credits through ourcourse equivalencies guide.
If your college is not currently included in our transfer equivalency guide, please
contact our Office of Admissions at 734-432-5339 oradmissions@madonna.eduto have your credits reviewed.
Madonna University participates in theMichigan Transfer Agreement (MTA)to facilitate transfer from Michigan community colleges. The MTA allows students to
complete general education courses at participating institutions in Michigan.
A minimum of 30 credits must be taken at the community college to satisfy MTA, including:
1 course in English Composition and a second English Composition or Communications
course
1 course in Mathematics from one of three pathways: College Algebra, Statistics, or
Quantitative Reasoning
2 courses in Social Sciences (from two disciplines)
2 courses in Humanities and Fine Arts (from two disciplines, excluding studio and
performance)
2 courses in Natural Sciences including one with laboratory experience (from two disciplines)
With completion of MTA, Madonna University recognizes that the Core Courses component
of graduation requirements has been completed. Note that the student’s official transcript
from the two-year institution must indicate that the MTA has been satisfied.
Madonna University has partnered with many two year colleges to increase the ease
of transfer between the two institutions through established articulation agreements
and transfer guides. Articulation agreements and transfer guides outline a clear pathway
for applicants to transfer credit to Madonna University and are reviewed on a regular
basis to reflect the most accurate and up-to-date course listings.

Madonna University has been named a “Military Friendly School” three years in a row
by GI Jobs and the Michigan Department of Veteran Affairs. We highly encourage veterans
to have their Joint Services Transcript (JST) submitted during the admission process
to maximize the use of their military training and experience. We will accept up
to 60 credits of military credit towards a bachelor's degree. Visit the JST website
