Madonna University Welcomes New Members to Nursing Honor Society

LIVONIA, MICH. – Madonna University's College of Nursing and Health held an induction ceremony last week at the Suchyta Art Gallery of the Welcome Center, welcoming new members to the Kappa Iota Chapter of Sigma, the International Nursing Honor Society.

The ceremony commenced with remarks from past-president Roxanne Roth, followed by the induction of new members by the chapter's new president, Tracey Chan. Provost and Interim Dean Dr. Deborah Dunn presented the inductees with honor cords and certificates, officially recognizing their achievements.

Sigma, originally founded as Sigma Theta Tau in 1922 by six nursing students, boasts over 135,000 active members across more than 600 chapters in over 100 countries. Membership in the Kappa Iota Chapter is reserved for students in baccalaureate or graduate programs who excel in academics, demonstrate integrity, and possess leadership potential. Nurse leader candidates with exceptional achievements in the field are also considered for membership.
