Madonna: A Homeschooler-Friendly University

At Madonna University, we recognize the unique experience homeschooled students bring. Our small class sizes, dedicated faculty, and supportive campus community ensure you have the guidance and resources to succeed academically and personally.

Why Choose Madonna?

We make it easier for homeschooled students to continue learning, grow personally, and achieve their goals - without unnecessary stress on families. Some of the things we offer include:

  • Books and course materials are included in tuition costs, so students and their families can better plan for college costs
  • Our Writing Center and Center for Personalized Instruction provide free assistance to help students succeed in any course
  • We offer up to $14,000 in merit scholarships, and 87% of our students receive some form of financial aid, making us one of the most affordable private institutions in Michigan
  • As a faith-based university rooted in Felician-Franciscan values, we foster a community centered on respect, service, and personal growth.

Plus, our small class sizes and dedicated faculty ensure personalized attention. Students can join clubs, honor societies, or varsity athletic teams, connect with peers, and explore passions both inside and outside the classroom.

Admission Requirements

Homeschooled students are considered for admission using the same criteria as other incoming freshman, and we take a holistic approach to admissions - looking at the whole student, not just grades. In order to receive a decision, students must complete our free application and submit all required materials, including high school transcripts and a personal essay. Madonna University remains test-optional, so students are welcome but are not required to submit ACT/SAT scores.
