A Variety of Health Occupations

We offer programs that focus on caring for others through a variety of health occupations. We provide excellent educational experiences at the undergraduate and graduate levels for students seeking preparation or advancement in nursing, hospice and palliative care, and health science related professions. Our programs are based on the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual tradition of Madonna University and foster respectful care of all people as they experience life’s continuum of health, illness, and death.

Our nursing program, founded in 1962, is fully accredited for the bachelor's, master's, and doctor of nursing practice by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) since 2006. Within our state of the art nursing simulation laboratories, students prepare to provide care across the life continuum using high fidelity simulators and standardized case scenarios throughout the undergraduate and graduate level nursing programs. We are pleased to be able to partner with a variety of agencies/hospitals in our community to offer outstanding clinical experiences for students enrolled in these programs.

Hospice and Palliative Studies offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs along with certificate offerings. This program has enjoyed success since its inception in 1984. Providing education at the undergraduate and graduate level, it is the only university-based program of its kind in the nation. Our faculty are highly regarded in the community for their experiential knowledge. Explore the programs offered in our new Population Health major.
