  • Selection order is determined by earned credit hours
  • Complete the roommate matching/ selection process before room selection begins
  • Room selection dates and times will be sent via Madonna email (students must submit their housing application to be eligible)

New Residential Students

New residential students (any student who does not currently reside on campus, including transfer students, first-year students, or current Madonna students living off-campus) will indicate preferred room types in their online housing application. These preferences will guide the assignment process, though specific room types are not guaranteed.

  • Students should email residencelife@madonna.edu with the name(s) of any preferred roommates prior to assignments
  • Students without preferred roommates will be matched based on compatibility through the housing application responses
  • Room assignment order is determined by the date the housing application is completed

Online Contracts & Deposits

We encourage students planning to live on campus to submit their Housing Deposit and complete their Housing Application as early as possible to reserve their room for the upcoming academic year. Housing Deposits must be submitted before a student may fill out a Housing Application. Students living in on-campus housing (formally defined as residential students) are required to sign our housing contract and must be enrolled at the University.

Housing Accommodations

Madonna University is committed to the full participation of all students in campus life. If you require special housing accommodations, contact the Office of Accessibility Services to begin the request process or request additional information.

If you have concerns about the policies above, please submit a Special Academic or Administrative Student Request form to the Registrar's office.

Madonna University Consolidation Plan

To provide housing for as many students as possible, rooms may be consolidated at semester breaks.

Consolidation helps:

  • Encourage students to live with a fellow Crusader for a full college experience

  • Promote safety and security by keeping students near each other

  • Support sustainability by reducing energy and resource usage

  • Provide options for independent living through a “buy out” of a roommate’s half of a room

  • Align with the University’s room pricing based on occupancy

How consolidation works:

  • One month before the semester ends, Residence Life assesses rooms with a single occupant in a multiple-occupancy room.

  • Students may be:

    • Asked to find a new roommate by a specified deadline

    • Moved to another room with available space

    • Offered the option to “buy out” the room at an additional cost (based on availability and staff discretion)
