LIVONIA, MICH. – Students in Madonna University's TRIO Student Support Services program recently visited the University of Michigan's Rackham Graduate School to learn what it takes to pursue an advanced degree.
During the visit, students met with graduate school experts who walked them through the application process and the steps involved in earning a graduate degree. They also toured U of M's academic and research facilities and connected with undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities across Michigan, trading experiences and learning about the different paths others have taken.
For TRIO, the trip also gave students a chance to picture themselves in academic spaces they may not have considered before.
"We want them to leave these experiences thinking, 'I can do this! These opportunities are within my reach, and I am ready to go for it!" said Marius Sidau, Assistant Director of TRIO.
Preparing students for graduate study is a core part of TRIO's mission. Alongside visits like this one, the program offers workshops that build the academic skills students need to apply to graduate school. Students interested in continuing their education can also explore Madonna's own graduate programs.

TRIO Student Support Services helps first-generation and income-eligible students succeed at Madonna and plan for the future ahead.
