LIVONIA, MICH. – Madonna University offers several health programs that are designed for students of every background, from first-year college students to working nurses. Some programs prepare students to become registered nurses whereas others lead to careers in community health, education, and patient advocacy.
The newest program offered at Madonna is the online Bachelor of Science in Allied Health, which launched in Fall 2026. It is designed for students who want to work in health care without providing direct clinical care. Graduates can go on to become community health workers, patient advocates, health educators and much more. Allied Health is a good fit for students who enjoy teaching, advocating for others or helping people find the care that they need.
Students choose from six concentrations such as aging services, behavioral and mental health, and digital health communication. Students who plan to go on to medical school or another health profession can choose the Health Professional Degree Pathways concentration. The degree ends with a capstone course that is built around a real community health challenge, and because the program is fully online, students can easily fit the classes into their lives.
Moreover, students who want to become registered nurses can choose from four Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs, which are all accredited by the Commission on College Nursing Education (CCNE) through 2036.
The traditional BSN is for students that are starting college. The LPN to BSN program helps licensed practical nurses become RNs, and the RN to BSN program lets working nurses finish their bachelor’s degree. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 69.8% of employers strongly prefer to hire new nurses that have a BSN.
The Accelerated BSN is for students who already have a bachelor’s degree or at least 60 college credits. Coursework is online, with in-person labs in Southfield, Michigan and clinical experiences with Henry Ford Health. New cohorts start in January, May, and August.
