Writing Center
The Madonna University Writing Center, in Room 1403, is a resource for both students and faculty. We support our students by offering free one-to-one writing tutoring for assignments in any subject. We work with students at any stage of the writing process, from developing an idea for a paper to putting on the final polish. Our goal is not to fix papers but to teach students how to write effectively themselves.
We support our faculty by visiting their classes to give workshops or assist with group writing-related activities, working with faculty by tutoring their students for specific assignments, and taking individual student referrals from faculty. Our goal is to support faculty as they teach students how to write effectively in their own disciplines.
The faculty and staff at Madonna University have made a commitment to writing across the disciplines. They recognize that writing competency affects a student’s success in college, in graduate school, in the professions, and in everyday life. For this reason, Madonna University actively promotes the development of strong writing skills.

National Day on Writing
Sixty-six students, staff, and faculty participated in the National Day on Writing in the Take 5 Lounge on Monday, October 21. The round-robin stories, songs, readings, Halloween prompts, and our mega-recruiters (Desmond Thompson and Kevin Finch) kept the energy levels high. Stay tuned for our Paper Hearts Workshop (formerly the Valentine's Day Research Write-a-thon) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, in the Take 5 Lounge. Both events are hosted by the Library and Writing Center.

Paper Hearts Workshop
The Madonna Library and Writing Center co-hosted the Paper Hearts Workshop all day Thursday, February 13, in the Take 5 Lounge. More than 50 students participated by either reading aloud, providing live music, adding to our 'round-robin' stories, getting research and writing help, and/or responding to Valentine's-Day-themed prompts.
