Academic Advising Students with many or few interests and who are unsure of which major(s) to declare (A-M) are encouraged to seek academic advice. Advisors will monitor students’ progress and provide help when needed. |
Personal/Spiritual Counseling College students normally experience many challenges and changes. Students could get advice on test anxieties, ways to increase self-esteem and personal growth, gain stress management skills, learn to balance the demands of family, school and work, learn conflict resolution strategies, become an effective problem solver and receive referrals for off-campus counseling. |
Resolution of Student Grievances Provides a method for settling student grievances. This procedure is also followed by students who wish to appeal their grade, termination, or dismissal from the University. The grievance procedure must be requested within 15 working days after the end of the term in which the grievance exists. |
Retention/Special Projects Frequency of contact with advisees regarding academic progress, referrals given to students about Student Services offered on campus. Engage in developmental advising (career & life planning) advisement. |
Student Activities, Wellness, and Community Service Organizations in areas of professional study are often affiliated with local, state and national professional associations. This allows students exposure to current professional practice in their chosen field of study. Student concerns regarding peace and justice are translated in Student Service Learning with the students’ active involvement with Focus Hope, Habitat for Humanity, Gleaners’, Christmas for Kids, Campus Ministry service at soup kitchens, A Right to Life organization and other volunteer opportunities in the community. |
Student Government Association The purpose of the association is to foster cooperation and understanding in the college community. The association also provides a medium of expression for student concerns and interests. Community projects, social and special events are approved by the Madonna University Student Government Association. |
Student I.D. Cards Student identification cards are issued by the Office of Student Life (Room 1001). It must be updated in Office of Student Life or registrar’s Office with a current sticker for each term. The I.D. card should be carried at all times and must be presented when requested by a University staff member or security guard. Replacement cards are $5.00. |
