Liberal arts education is an education for life, designed to expand a student’s understanding of significant ideas and issues related to culture and the complexity of the modern world. All undergraduate students are required to complete a program of study which includes a General Education core, as well as requirements of a major.
The General Education requirements are based on eight academic goals and competencies, which integrate career preparation with the liberal arts. The general education goals are organized under the following headings:
- Communication
- Religious Values
- Cultural Traditions
- Scientific Inquiry
- Personal and Social Environment
- World Citizenship
- Personal and Professional Development
- Significant Content Knowledge
