Madonna University Orientation

Starting at a new university is a big transition, whether you are coming to us directly from high school, transferring from another institution, or beginning your college career later in life. For this reason, we require that all new students complete an orientation prior to beginning at the University.

Orientation: Direct from High School Students

This program is specifically for students who are coming to Madonna right from high school or home school environments. Students coming to Madonna University directly from high school are part of our First-Year Experience program, which guides them through a series of events intended to ease the transition to the University. Students are required to attend an orientation program during the summer prior to starting at the institution.

During orientation, you will register for your Fall 2017 classes, attend sessions that familiarize you with Madonna’s campus and provide a chance to meet other new students, faculty, and staff. FYE Peer Mentors (students who have successfully completed at least one year at Madonna already) will spend the day with you and lead you through the program. At orientation, you also will be introduced to our wide range of academic, social, and service-learning opportunities. You also will learn about other First-Year events and programs designed to answer your questions and help you achieve academic success.

As you begin this new chapter of your life, the support of loved ones can help ensure your success. Therefore, we invite and strongly encourage you to bring your parent(s), a family member, or other supporting adult to the orientation program. Your parents/guests will follow a separate program throughout the day.

 Orientation: Adult and Transfer Students

Adult and Transfer Student Orientation

Adult and Transfer Students have two options to cover the requirement of attending orientation:

  1. On-Campus Orientation Program: We have tailored our Adult and Transfer Student Orientation program to your needs. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, connect with other students, and learn about campus resources. Take advantage of this time to become familiar with our campus, academic advisors, financial aid officers, student life representatives, career services, and other Madonna staff who are available to help you.

There are no upcoming orientations scheduled at this time. Please check back later.

Questions? Please call our office at 734-432-5417.

  2. Online Orientation Program: If you are unable to come to campus for an in-person orientation, you can complete our convenient online orientation! Online Orientation is located on Blackboard, which is the course management system that our classes utilize here at Madonna University. Shortly after you are admitted to the University, you will automatically be added to the online orientation class in Blackboard. Instructions for completing the online orientation requirement can be found within the Blackboard course. If you are attempting to complete the online orientation and have questions, please contact Hannah Morch, Director of First-Year Experience at 734-432-5633 or hmorch@madonna.edu.
