Madonna to Host Missing in Michigan Event Saturday

LIVONIA, Mich. – Forensic Science faculty and students at Madonna University have joined with the Michigan State Police to host Missing Persons Day 2017, Saturday, May 6, from 1-5 p.m, in the Franciscan Center, on Madonna’s campus in Livonia, Mich. This event is meant to raise awareness of the issues surrounding missing persons in Michigan. Families and friends affected by the unexplained and unresolved disappearance of a loved one will be recognized on this day. 

A private roundtable discussion will be held, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., for families with a missing loved one. Please RSVP for this discussion at 313-215-0675, or This is an “ID the Missing” event. Families of a missing loved one are asked to bring at least two biological relatives of the missing person and any police reports, x-rays, or other identifying documents.


The event is free and open to the public. Officers will take tips on old cases and information on any new cases reported at the event. Local law enforcement will be on hand to answer questions, and to distribute free child ID kits. A special speaker will address human trafficking issues. More information is available at
