Office of Service-Learning Academic service-learning is a form of experiential learning that facilitates a deeper understanding of course objectives while simultaneously addressing community needs. In service-learning courses students share their knowledge, talents, and skills in service with the community. Structured reflection is an integral part of the service-learning experience and provides an opportunity for learning, growth, and development. Service-learning fulfills the University’s mission by instilling in students Christian Humanistic values, intellectual inquiry, a respect for diversity, and a commitment to serving others.
