Michigan Campus Compact
MCC is a coalition of college and university presidents who are committed to fulfilling the public purposes of higher education. Madonna University is one of 42 member campuses and “Michigan members are part of national Campus Compact, a coalition of nearly 1,100 college and university presidents, representing some 6 million students” (MCC, 2011). Serving in Southwest Detroit
A core group of faculty members are committed to serving in Southwest Detroit and engaging students in service projects that support efforts to build and sustain healthy communities. In particular, Madonna University has a long-standing partnership with 501(c) 3 non-profit Urban Neighborhood Initiatives, Inc. Ongoing service projects encompass health and nutrition education, community needs assessments, youth mentoring, homework help, Spanish Language exchange, adult education and neighborhood beautification.
