First Year Students
From our welcoming community and beautiful campus to our outstanding faculty members and leadership opportunities, Madonna University specializes in creating a personalized educational experience. At Madonna, we encourage you to embrace campus, participate in events, and utilize our many resources to ensure a successful future in your chosen field.
Current high school students and high school graduates who have not enrolled in a post-secondary institution after high school apply to Madonna as a freshman. Please mention any college courses completed in high school on the Madonna application.
The Admissions Process
The Office of Admissions begins a preliminary application evaluation once all information is received and processed. Every aspect of the application is considered: academic records, standardized test scores, personal statement, and requested program of study.
The admissions committee prioritizes applicants with strong academic credentials and notifies the applicant of a decision soon after completion. Some candidates may be asked to submit additional information. In some cases, the application may be referred to the admissions committee for a second review.
- Complete online application for undergraduate admissions
- Official high school transcript (final transcript after graduation with graduation date posted)
- ACT/SAT score(s)
- AP, IB test score(s), if applicable
- Dual Enrollment/college transcript, if applicable
At Madonna we take many factors into account when we consider students for admission. We prefer to have students with the following profile.
- Cumulative high school GPA 2.75 or above
- ACT composite score 20 or above
Residence Hall Requirements
Effective Fall 2017, all first-year, American students, whose primary U.S. residence is more than 35 miles from campus, and all new International (F-1 visa) and English Language program students must reside on campus and purchase a meal plan for their first full academic year (fall and winter semesters) at Madonna. Students can complete the residence hall application and submit a $175 deposit (applied to fall and winter billing) by completing the Residence Hall Contract at http://www.madonna.edu/resources/residence-life. Additional meal plans are available for commuting students on request.
First-Year Merit Scholarships
New students are automatically considered for most merit scholarships upon admission. Scholarships are awarded for full-time study in the fall and winter and are renewable for up to four years.
Merit scholarship awards are based on a student’s grade point average and standardized test scores. Awards range from $2,000 to $10,000 per year.
Crusaders on the Move Micro-Scholarships
Alternatively, students may earn micro-scholarships while in high school through the Crusaders on the Move Scholarship program. Students may earn up to $8,000 per year based on college preparatory activities, challenging academic classes, leadership roles, as well as attending college visits while in high school.
- Earn up to $1800 by earning A’s in Math and Science classes
- Earn up to $500 for 20 hours of community service
- Earn $1,500 for visiting Madonna University
- Earn $500 for taking the PSAT or ACT Plan
Students must sign up at www.raise.me/join/madonna to create a student account and enter their achievements to begin earning the micro scholarships. The deadline for entering achievements is February 1st of the student’s senior year. Students that participate in the Crusaders on the Move scholarship will be awarded the higher of either the earned micro scholarships or their merit based scholarship award, not both. Athletic and affiliation awards would still be stackable.
Regardless of the type of award, students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA code 002282) to be considered for all forms of financial aid. To learn more about the Financial Aid process please see our full financial aid information page.
