Dr. Deborah Dunn
Deborah Dunn is the Dean of the Graduate School at Madonna University since 2013 and presently the interim Dean School of Business. She holds a BSN from Eastern Michigan University, an MSN from Wayne State University, a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Post-Masters Certificate from the University of Michigan, and a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. Deborah is an ANCC board-certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and board-certified Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist and an AHA certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor.
Prior to her appointment as dean, Deborah was a full-time Professor and Program Director for the Nurse Practitioner programs in the College of Nursing and Health. Since 1992, Deborah has taught in a variety of undergraduate, and graduate courses. Her specialties include adult primary care, gerontology, hospice / palliative care, quality improvement, and higher education.
Professional activities outside of academia include serving on community organization boards and in professional organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Angela Hospice, Board of Directors – Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association, Board of Directors – Great Lakes Chapter GAPNA, and the Heart of Nursing Scholarship committee for St. Mary Mercy Hospital.
Deborah has authored and co-authored over 25 publications on health care topics, including chapters in Bowles, Gerontological Case Studies:100 narratives for Learning (2011), and in Mauk’s Gerontologic Nursing Competencies for Care (2010 & 2014). Since 2000, she has presented on nursing, education, and elder care topics at over 37 peer-reviewed conferences and been the recipient of national and local awards for education and leadership. In 2015, Deborah led a national consensus project for the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) which culminated in the publication of GAPNA’s Proficiencies for the APRN Gerontological Specialist.
Her research interests include higher education, nursing education, quality improvement and eldercare. She is currently working on a project examining the efficacy of an innovative mobile health technology to improve older adult caregiver and healthcare provider communication, satisfaction with care, care transitions, and caregiver burden.
Dr. John CritchettDr. John Critchett currently serves as Professor and Chair of Undergraduate Programs in the School of Business. He has been at Madonna full-time since 1994. He has been to mainland China seven times since 1998 to teach graduate courses for Madonna University. His teaching areas are accounting and finance. He has a co-authored paper in the area of cost management, and has made presentations in the area of accounting and finance to academic and professional groups. He currently serves as President of a local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), and his hobbies include tennis and antiques.
Nidhal BouaziziNidhal Bouazizi is an Assistant Professor of International Business and Economics. He joined the faculty team of Madonna University in 2013 and has been a full time faculty member at the School of Business in the Management and Marketing Department since 2015. He completed his master’s degree from the University of Tunis, Tunisia, in economics and international business in 2004. Later, he completed his MBA at Madonna University with a concentration in International Business Financial Operations. He has business and corporate experience in various countries and regions including Europe, North Africa, East Asia, and the USA. His interests include critical success factors (CSF) for local businesses, cultural differences in perceptions of entrepreneurs, international business, and economics. He has done research focusing on critical success factors for small businesses in the metro Detroit area and also the cultural differences in perceptions of entrepreneurs across four different regions. This research has included both primary and secondary research methods. Even though he enjoys teaching marketing and management, his favorite classes to teach are international business and economics.
William J Kasperski
Dr. William J. Kasperski is an Associate Professor of Quantitative Systems in the School of Business. He joined the full-time faculty of Madonna University in 2007. He completed his doctoral degree in 1994 at Louisiana State University. He teaches in the areas of Statistics, Research Methods, Operations Management and Information Systems. His interests include applied statistics, personal financial planning, retirement planning, and quantitative research methods. He is actively engaged as the thesis advisor for MSBA students in the School of Business. His recent research includes evaluating municipal bond fund ratings for Michigan cities. Dr. William J. Kasperski has expertise in various statistical research methodologies, including: design of experiments, computer software applications, and marketing research. His favorite courses to teach include Applied Statistics and Research Methods.
Matilda is an instructor of Quantitative Systems, Management, and Marketing in the School of Business. Her primary focus is developing the research and analytical skills of graduate and undergraduate students. She has taught a variety of courses ranging from statistics, research methodology, computer science, management information systems and principles of marketing. She has also taught business management courses for Madonna University programs in Mainland China.
She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Eastern Michigan University in Technology Management and Quality Measures. She is also a Doctoral Fellow at Eastern Michigan University where she is involved in several research projects including, investigating and moderating factors that affect student satisfaction in transnational education as well as intuition and critical thinking in situational leadership. Her current research includes, but not limited to, examining the paradoxical relation between socio-technology optimization and Marxist theory of alienation.
She is a professional chair member of International Economics Development and Research Center (IERDC), member of Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), member of the Eastern Michigan University Doctoral Students Advisory Board (EMU-DSAB), and member of the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement (SCLA). Matilda has co-authored in highly referenced scientific and business journals and has spoken both at domestic and international conferences.
Dr. Olla is an Information Technology (IT) specialist with over 20 years’ experience working at the leading edge of technology and innovation. He has also worked in the space, healthcare and Energy sectors. He has worked with a wide spectrum of organizations such as Oracle, 02 Telefónica UK, British Telecom, NASA, Roche Diagnostics, CLSA and International Renewable Corporation.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information Technology and Chartered Engineer registered with British Engineering Council. Dr. Olla is the Director for the Center for Research and Professor of Management Information Systems at Madonna University in Michigan USA and visiting professor at Stanford University. He is a worldwide speaker with speaking engagements in Asia, Europe, Africa and USA with a focus on convergence of telecommunication and healthcare innovations and has presented extensively to the academic and scientific community. Dr. Olla has a PhD in Information Systems from Brunel University in the UK and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in journals, and authored 3 industry reports along with 7 book chapters and 3 books.
Research interest include, healthcare innovation, 3D printing and educational technology. His favorite course is Healthcare Data Mining.
Dr. Betty Jean Hebel
Dr. Betty Jean Hebel is a Senior full time faculty member in the Marketing and Management Department. She joined the full time faculty in 1994 after teaching as an adjunct faculty member for 3 years. She earned her doctoral degree in 1984 and M. Ed. from Wayne State University. She teaches in the areas of marketing and management and is the lead instructor for graduate and senior level undergraduate courses in marketing. Her interests include business to business marketing and the application of integrated marketing communication strategies to the many dimensions of social media. Her coursework has included many service learning projects for client organizations in the local community. She is actively engaged in business, serving on the Board of Directors of a publically traded company and also serves as the Corporate Secretary of the Business Honor Society, Delta Mu Delta Board of Directors. She has taught for Madonna University in programs offered in Taipei, Taiwan; Shanghai, China; Jinan, China; Harbin, China; and Tianjin, China.

Kathleen Richard is Program Director for both the Hospitality and Tourism Management program and also the Merchandising and Retail Management concentration in the School of Business. She joined Madonna University full time faculty in the 1980's from Oakland Community College Business Department. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and an M.A. from Central Michigan University.
Prior to her academic teaching career, Kathleen was a buyer for Hudson's Department Store, based in Detroit Michigan, now known as the Macy's Department Store Group. While employed at Hudson's, Kathleen also held positions as Corporate Training Director and College Management Training and Recruitment Coordinator.
Her research areas of interest include Consumer Behavior and retail buying trends and hospitality industry trends and research. Her work with students includes supervising internships for students in both Hospitality and Merchandising. Her business network associations is an essential ingredient to assist students in finding a compatible internship placement for their personal career goals.
Kathleen has consulted with corporations in both the areas of Hospitality and Merchandising such as Macy's Corp. Polo Ralph Lauren, Somerset and Twelve Oaks malls, Marriott Corp. Andiamo's, Detroit Convention Bureau and various private clubs in the area. Her favorite courses taught include Consumer Behavior, Principles of Retailing, Retail and Merchandising Management and Property Architecture and Interiors.
She oversees programs at both the Madonna University main campus and the Macomb University Center. She is always open to working with existing students and alumni on career counseling, job search and academic planning. Keeping in touch and a part of the business community is crucial to her success as an instructor.
Mr. Frank Notturno is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Management in the School of Business. He joined the faculty of Madonna University in 2003, and is currently in his thirtieth year of teaching, having previously taught as a full-time professor at the following schools: Louisiana State University, Misericordia University (Dallas, Pennsylvania), St. Mary's College (Notre Dame, Indiana), Owens Community College (Perrysburg, Ohio), St. Mary's (Orchard Lake, Michigan). He has also spent more than seven years as a Department Chair at Owens Community College and St. Mary's College (Orchard Lake, Michigan).
His professional experience has been in the area of sales and sales management, and he has been an entrepreneur in the Southeastern Michigan music industry for over eleven years.
He completed his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing and Accounting in 1982 at The Pennsylvania State University, and his Master's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing in 1986, at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was also a candidate in the doctoral program in the Marketing Department at Louisiana State University for a brief time prior to commencing teaching. He teaches in the areas of marketing and management.
His interests include sales, marketing and management of musicians and music venues. His research has been in the area of sales and sales management and he is the co-author of the textbook, Effective Selling, 8th Edition, Hair, Notturno, Russ.
Kathryn is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the School of Business. She teaches a variety of courses online and on campus at the graduate and undergraduate levels including Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, Managerial Accounting and the Business Capstone. She has also taught accounting courses for the Dubai program.
Currently, Kathryn is a doctoral student at Capella University’s Doctorate of Business Administration program with an Accounting specialization. Her current research revolves around critical factors impacting retention in the public accounting industry. Kathryn has co-authored peer-reviewed work regarding critical skills applied in a manufacturing environment.
Kathryn is a Certified Public Accountant with an active license, and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants where she has been serving on the Educational Task Force since 2014.
