||It is our pleasure to introduce Dr. Catherine Griffin as the undergraduate chair of the nursing program at Madonna University. Dr. Griffin comes to this position with a wealth of experience in curriculum, teaching and advising of students. A Madonna University College of Nursing and Health faculty member, Dr. Griffin has taught at all levels of the undergraduate program focusing on maternal child nursing, senior capstone and holistic care immersion senior practicum. Dr. Griffin has also taught in the graduate nurse educator certificate program at Madonna. A graduate of the University of Michigan for her nursing BS and MS with a major in parent-child nursing with a teaching cognate, Dr. Griffin pursued her doctorate in medical anthropology at Wayne State University where her dissertation was entitled “It’s a birth not a procedure: An ethnographic study of intrauterine fetal death in labor and deliver unit of an American hospital setting.”
Dr. Griffin replaces Dr. Cross who has chaired the undergraduate program since 2004. Dr. Cross retired from her full-time position in June of 2013.

Pre-nursing students must apply to the upper division Nursing program for the semester in which they plan to begin Nursing courses. Complete applications must be submitted by January 31 for fall consideration, by July 31 for winter consideration.
