The mission of the Department of Gerontology is to prepare students to address the concerns of an aging population and to promote the potential of people who are in their later years.

This three-course sequence prepares students to sit for both the State and Federal exams to become a licensed Nursing Home Administrator (NHA). This program is coordinated by practicing NHAs who invite other professionals from the field to share their practical knowledge and insights into providing administration for resident-centered homes.
