"The MATESOL program at Madonna University is ideal for the educator who wants more than an internet education. The MATESOL program is run by educators, for educators. The program has provided me with a phenomenal practical education that I can use with native speakers, as well as with non-native speakers, adults or children. I have also made connections with colleagues, gifted master teachers, from all varieties of schools throughout Michigan. My time at Madonna has been amazing. I am thrilled to know that I am going to be coming out of this program with a quality degree and education from dynamic instructors who are working in the field of TESOL on a daily basis."

"Teaching English of Speakers of Other Languages has been a tremendous benefit to my family and me. Raising my kids bilingual has allowed me to introduce some of the techniques I have learned in class with them. I have learned not only from the good instruction that I have received in the program, but also from my classmates. Many of them have additional experiences in other work and educational sites. Also their different backgrounds have widened my knowledge base. I am proud to be part of the program."

"I started the MATESOL program without the benefit of an education background and wondered what that would mean for my success. Although I have encountered a great deal of information that is new to me I have been supported throughout my time in the program by both knowledgeable professors and classmates. This program holds a wealth of knowledge for any person looking to be an ESL educator and I feel that I have acquired so much that will help make my future successful. I am pleased to say that the experiences I have gained from this program have already benefited me in the classroom. I know that my time in this program is being and will continue to be well spent."

"I am an elementary school teacher in Detroit and was 1/4 of the way into a master's in Inclusionary Education (EI/LD) at another university. Although I realized that this would be a way to make my teaching in the regular ed. classroom stronger, I felt as though I was just "paying" for the degree and not really educating myself. After attending my spouse's graduation at Madonna I noticed MATESOL on the program and looked into it. I enjoyed linguistics as an undergrad. and teach in a school where there are many bilingual students. After a single meeting with the fascinating and knowledgeable Dr. Domzalski I realized that this program would be challenging, interesting, and worthwile (also worth the money)! I have taken 5 courses so far and have no regrets for changing progams (or schools for that matter). The students in each of my TESOL classes have been a diverse group of educators (and future educators) who have provided many lessons and experiental anecdotes that I have found benefitial to my teaching career."

"After only one semester in Madonna’s MA TESOL program, I was offered a full-time ESL teaching position at a local international academy. I was voted to head the School Improvement Plan Committee based on the resources I had acquired from my TESOL classes. Also, after just one semester at Madonna, I took, and passed, the MTTC test for teacher certification. My excitement for the subject matter makes my family, friends, and colleagues continually ask what new information I have learned in class. The faculty has been knowledgeable, coming to class with real-life examples to use in the ESL classroom; they are genuinely concerned with increasing understanding of the critical components of teaching ESL, and providing the necessary resources to do so. The diversity of the graduate students in the MA TESOL program also make the experiences unparalleled."

"Ever since I made the first call of inquiry to Dr. Domzalski regarding what the program entailed, I have been excited to be a part of it, and have felt so very welcomed and supported. The class offerings are well-planned and very thorough; valuable for veteran classroom teachers and aspiring educators as well. I knew the minute I began my coursework last year that I had made a wise decision to pursue a master’s degree in TESOL, and that I "was in the right place" both personally and professionally speaking. I sensed that I was becoming a better early elementary teacher immediately, as I found myself looking forward to the action research in the classroom that this program encourages. I know that I already understand and empathize with my ESL students better as a result of the classes that I have been fortunate to experience thus far. I can't wait to see how much more I will have evolved by the time I complete this wonderful and marketable degree. I love how TESOL students share their knowledge and expertise with one another in such a helpful and encouraging way. It truly feels like TESOL is more than just a program of study; it's like being with "family". I am impressed with the many opportunities and suggestions that the professors make us aware of, so that we may enhance our learning via additional and meaningful ways. The quality of the staff is excellent, and they contribute in such a positive way to our experiences."
