Within the values and goals of Madonna University, the Psychology Department provides a solid foundation in the understanding of the whole person through exploration of research-based practice in psychology. Study in the Department promotes the development of responsible scholarship, knowledge of major findings, issues in psychology, an open, inquiring mind, and an appreciation of the diversity of human life. Course work prepares students to think psychologically, to apply psychological principles to a professional setting or to study psychology and related disciplines at the graduate level.

The Mental Health minor program provides coursework in psychological disorders and testing assessment, theories of personality, and the treatments derived from those theories. Students also study the relationship between the central nervous system and various mental problems while being exposed to the ethical and legal issues arising in mental health practice.
