The Madonna University Elementary Teacher Preparation programs are approved by the Michigan Department of Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The University recommends students for both Provisional (initial) certification and the Professional Education Certificate. 

Elementary teaching certificates are available in the following majors: General Science, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Studies. Two choices are offered for the required minor -- the Elementary Curriculum Minor and the Early Childhood Minor. The Early Childhood minor completes the requirements for an additional endorsement in Early Childhood Education (commonly known as the ZA endorsement) for the teaching certificate.
