Madonna University offers a major and a minor in Child Development. A minor in Early Childhood Education is also available for those completing the requirements for elementary (K-8) teacher certification. The Early Childhood Endorsement program is offered both at the undergraduate and post-degree levels. The program focuses on the growth and development of children from the prenatal stage through early elementary school age. Theories of child development are studied while students learn to plan, assess environments, and develop materials, activities, and interactions that will facilitate children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.
