As part of the Gerontology Department, the mission of the Activity and Program Planning certificate is to prepare students to address the concerns of an aging population and to promote the potential of people in their later years.

Certificate of Achievement: Activity and Program Planning
Individuals successfully completing the courses for this certificate focus on developing activities and programs to address the universal needs of older adults. Students are primarily employed by senior centers, retirement communities and nursing homes to plan and conduct offerings such as health promotion activities, opportunities for self-expression, intergenerational events, learning projects, etc.
