The Department of History seeks to promote intellectual excellence while preparing students for meaningful roles in the contemporary world through a critical study of human experiences through time.

The Social Studies program is designed for Education students but is also available to all students seeking an interdisciplinary study of the social sciences. History, political science, geography and economics are studied while focusing on the important ideas, concepts and theories related to these disciplines. The program's diverse experiences culminate in a senior seminar.
