The Physical Education minor may be earned to support a teaching certificate.
The Madonna University secondary teacher preparation programs are approved by the Michigan Department of Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The University recommends students for both Provisional (initial) certification and the Professional Education certificate, as well as for additional endorsements to existing certificates. The University also recommends students for the Interim Occupational Certificate (formally called the Temporary Vocational Authorization) to teach in a state-reimbursed vocational classroom, grades 9-12.
Secondary teaching certificates may be earned in the following majors: Biology, Chemistry, Communication Arts, English, Family and Consumer Sciences, History, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Music Education (K-12), Social Studies, Spanish, and Visual Arts Education (K-12).
