Madonna University's Master of Science in Educational Leadership program focuses on the knowledge, skills and dispositions of effective leadership in education. The 30-schedule-hour program is intended to enhance students' role as teachers, principals, coordinators or department chairs. The program is approved by the State of Michigan Department of Education for School Principal Preparation and adheres to national and State leadership standards for administrative certification.
Coursework examines activities, responsibilities, processes, and performances resulting in optimal outcomes for students through the effective organization of human resources and application of sound leadership practice. Learning experiences emphasize links to authentic contexts including a supervised year-long internship and project that addresses real needs in educational settings. The program is designed for part-time students with a full-time professional commitment.
The Master of Science in Educational Leadership is designed to meet the need for leaders in diverse educational settings who will be visionary educators and instructional leaders as well as effective administrators. This fundamental educational approach enables the leader not only to administer effectively but to also lead with a compelling vision of continuous improvement for optimal student success.
