The Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Literacy Education program enables certified teachers to enhance their knowledge and experience to perform at the master's level in language and literacy education according to the criteria of the International Reading Association and the Michigan Department of Education. The program is aligned with all mandated Michigan Department of Education standards and is approved for a K-12 endorsement to elementary and secondary teaching certificates.

Reduced rates are available for Madonna University alumni and teachers in the Archdiocese of Detroit. The Archdiocese also offers a tuition assistance program for qualified candidates working in the Archdiocese of Detroit Schools.
