In response to the need for a program specifically addressing language arts as taught at the elementary level, Madonna University’s English and Communication Arts Department, in conjunction with the College of Education, offers the Language Arts program to provide prospective teachers with a firm theoretical and practical grounding in language, literature, speech, and writing. Our goal is to produce graduates ideally prepared to develop in their pupils a love and understanding of the Language Arts, the vehicles of communication by which we live, work, share and develop ideas of the present, reflect on the past, and anticipate in the future.
Interested in a career in Elementary Education? If you are, and you love language and literature, consider Madonna University’s Language Arts Program. As a Language Arts student, you’ll take courses that give you the competencies to effectively teach the elements of the English Language Arts (including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical viewing) to students in grades K through 8. Language Arts students also complete the Professional Education Sequence in the College of Education – a rich curriculum that fully prepares students to receive teacher certification and launch a career as an elementary educator.
