The Health Care Management curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge foundations necessary to secure career-oriented health care business management positions in organizations such as medical or dental practices, hospitals, clinics, nonprofit organizations, and health-care related sales and marketing businesses. This program is offered by the School of Business, therefore emphasis throughout the program is based on business skills rather than clinical knowledge needed by health care professionals. Since this is a Business degree, students study the six functional areas of the discipline: accounting, management, marketing, law, economics and statistics. These skills are then applied to a variety of health-care related settings. The program follows guidelines of the American Society of Healthcare Executives. Contact the School of Business office at 734-432-5354 or 55 to make an appointment with an advisor to discuss this career option. Classes are held on campus in Livonia and soon the program will also be taught online. Related Health Care Academic Programs Master of Science in Health Services Administration: a 30 s.h. program in the administration of health care organizations; offered in Livionia, Mich. and online – soon to be offered at Madonna's Orchard Lake Center.
