The Criminal Justice Department strives to create a learning environment that enables students to understand and appreciate the needs of a diverse society in order to build a better world based on truth, ethics, and justice for all people. Madonna University offers associate and bachelor's degrees, as well as a minor, Certificates of Achievement and Certificates of Completion in Criminal Justice.
The Criminal Justice Department affords educational opportunities to students and in-service professionals in law enforcement, corrections and courts. Since the inception of the Criminal Justice program in 1972, more than 2,100 students have completed the program with more than 80 of our graduates going on to be police chiefs of their agencies. Many others have advanced to leadership positions in the criminal justice field.
The Criminal Justice program aims to develop an understanding of the social environment, an awareness of social problems and their implications, and a critical approach to living in society. It also provides students with the ability to generalize, to make discriminating judgments, and to base responses in a given situation upon an understanding of the broader context of an individual’s role.
