Michigan Service Scholars Program Scholarship
What is MSS?
The Michigan Service Scholars Program is an AmeriCorps program that encourages
students to serve on their campuses and in their communities. MSS promotes
civic engagement and active citizenship among college students.
Students willing to complete 300 hours of community service during one calendar
year will receive a $1,000 educational award to help further their education.

What activities qualify?
-Community service in the areas of volunteer recruitment and infrastructure
and/or through youth programs focused on Mentoring, Early Childhood
Education/Development, and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Schools
-Internships, student teaching, service-learning course, and Federal
Work Study positions focused on community needs.
-Students in paid positions may be qualified to receive the award.

When can I start?
There will be three official start times during the 2005-2006 school year.
MSS members must attend one training session.
